ESR 2 - Amphiphilic Molecular Motors for Cellular Recognition and Uptake

Light-driven molecular motors offer the opportunity to introduce responsive behavior triggered by a non-invasive external signal with high spatial-temporal precision. In order to realize the full potential of molecular motors in in-vivo applications overcoming the need for high-energy UV-light to initiate their rotation has been identified as a key challenge. The objective is to design amphiphilic motors that work under a safe wavelength for cell cellular recognition, transport into the cell, integration into drug delivery systems and endless possibilities in the field of nanomedicine.
